Privacy Policy

This policy explains what seosuggest.net does with information when you use the tools on this site. It is deliberately specific, because a vague privacy policy is not much use to anybody.

The short version

There are no user accounts. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not keep the addresses or text you put into the tools. Most of what the tools do happens inside your own browser.

What we collect

Information you enter into a tool

When you paste a URL or a block of text into one of the tools, that content is used only to produce the result you asked for. Where a tool needs a page fetched from the internet, the address is sent to our server, the page is downloaded, the useful parts are extracted and returned to your browser. Neither the address nor the result is written to a database or retained afterwards.

Technical information

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, and the date and time. These are used to keep the service running and to investigate faults and abuse.

The tools also apply a short rate limit so that one visitor cannot overwhelm the server. To do this we store a one-way hash of your IP address together with a request count for sixty seconds, after which it is deleted automatically. The original IP address is not stored by this mechanism and the hash cannot be reversed into an address.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message so that we can reply. Contact form submissions are delivered to our inbox as email and are not stored in the website’s database. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with the matter.

Comments

If commenting is enabled on an article and you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name, email address and comment text you supply, along with your IP address and browser user agent, so the comment can be displayed and moderated.

Third parties

• Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf in order to serve the site.
• Google Fonts. This site may load the Inter typeface from Google’s font service. When it does, your browser makes a request to Google and your IP address is visible to them as part of that request. No cookie is set by this. The site owner can switch this off, in which case your device’s own fonts are used and no external request is made.
• Websites you ask us to analyse. When you enter an address, our server requests that page. The site in question will see a request from our server, identified as our bot, not from you.

We do not use advertising networks, and no analytics or tracking service is installed by default. If the site owner later adds one, this policy will be updated to name it.

Why we are allowed to do this

Where data protection law such as the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests: running a functioning website, keeping it secure and available, and answering messages people choose to send us. We do not rely on consent for any of the processing described above because none of it is used for marketing or profiling.

How long anything is kept

• Tool inputs and results: not retained.
• Rate-limit hashes: sixty seconds.
• Server logs: as long as our hosting provider’s standard retention period.
• Emails and contact messages: until the conversation is finished and no longer needed.
• Comments: until you or we delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, or to complain to your national data protection authority. Because we hold so little, most requests are answered quickly. Write to support@seosuggest.net and we will respond within one month.

Children

These tools are aimed at people working on websites and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be summarised rather than slipped in quietly.
